This imaging tool can mount any kind of image with just one click, emulate all types of virtual drives (SCSI, DT, and, IDE), password-protect your images, create, convert, and edit existing images, and many other image-related professional features.
The tool will automatically search for disc images in all your hard drives, and will create a useful catalog with all of them. The program’s extensive support for all types of image files hasn’t changed – MDS, ISO, VHD, ZIP, IMG, NRG, CUE, or MDX files are but a sample of the image types that the program will search for. Images will be listed in two main groups – Images and Devices, and each of them comes with its own set of features.
DAEMON Tools Pro can create new images by grabbing full discs and turn them into MDX, ISO, MDS, or APE files. It can also edit existing images, burn them to disc, and convert them between MDX, ISO, and MDS image files. Creating a new VHD (Virtual Hard Drive) is as simple as creating a new image file. You can define its size if it’ll be mounted as removable storage or an HD drive, its file system, if it’ll be a dynamic or a fixed drive, etc.
Another excellent feature is related to the privacy and security of your images. By using TrueCrypt files, you can lock all sensitive data stored in your disc images so that nobody can access them without the right password. You can define its dimensions, file system, and determine which encryption and hash algorithms will be used to protect, respectively, your data and your password. You can add an extra layer of protection by applying keyfiles to your TrueCrypt container. As for devices, DAEMON Tools Pro allows you to add as many DT, SCSI, IDE, and, HDD virtual drives as you need. You can mount them in a snap, and apply to them the same level of TrueCrypt protection available for disc images.
The program offers you some useful additional tools to produce exact copies of existing discs and to erase the content of recordable discs. For those who miss the old console-based interaction, the program offers them command-line support to perform a number of the most common features (create new drives, mount, and unmount disc images, etc.). The program can also integrate with the Windows context menu for easy and fast access to some of the most common operations it performs.
